Cuprous dioxide is a bright red, insoluble powder. In acidic solution it becomes divalent copper and copper. Over time, the cuprous oxide slowly oxidizes to black copper oxide. Purity: 99% Particle size: 50nm, micron Cuprous Oxide Cu2O (powder): Curous oxide also known as Cu2o and Cuprous oxide is an oxide of monovalent, copper. What is Cu2O’s correct chemical name? Correct chemical name of Cu2O: Cuprous oxide, Copper (1+) oxidecopper and Dicopper oxygen Cu2O appears as a powdery, bright-red solid and is nearly insoluble in water. It is a divalent copper-containing metal that reacts with acidic solution. The copper element slowly makes it black, while the copper oxide gradually becomes blacker in humid atmosphere. Copper oxide. Cuprous Oxide is most commonly used for the production of antifouling coating on the bottom of ship (used to kill low level marine animals), in insecticides, different copper salts, analytical reactants, red glasses, as well the preparation and plating of copper and copper alloy plating. Use cuprous dioxide in accordance to instructions and store it properly. It does not make copper salts in diluted sulfuric or diluted nitric. Will turn to blue quickly in the air. Even though cuprous dioxide is stable in dry atmosphere, it slowly oxidizes in humid environment to become copper oxide. Cuprous dioxide is insoluble when mixed with water. However, the complex it forms with concentrated hydrohalic Acid and aqueous ammonia solutions dissolves. It is easy to dissolve in an alkaline, aqueous solution. CuO for cupric oxide. Cu2O was made from either copper oxide and an oxidation solution (II), of the sulfuroxide solutions. Many copper-based wood preservatives can also be made. It can be used in the production of different glazes as a pigment. Is cuprous oxide dangerous? Ingestion Can be fatal if it is swallowed. It can cause skin irritation if they are absorbed into the skin. May cause skin irritation. Eye irritation can occur. Cuprous oxidide cu2O powder performance Cuprous dioxide, sometimes called Copper II Oxide is an inorganic chemical with the formula Cu2O. It is one of three major oxides of copper. This solid, brown-red color is used as an additive in many antifouling colors. Cuprous nuparticles can be described as a white solid that is stable. It’s formed from reduced Cu2+ and contains Cu+ ions in line with oxygen. Technical Parameter of Cuprous Oxide Cu2O powder

How is Cuprous Oxide Cub2O powder manufactured? You can prepare cuprous dioxide using the following methods: 1. Dry method. Copper powder mixed with copperoxide after getting rid of impurities is sent to the furnace for heating to 800-900°C. Once it has been heated, cuprous dioxide can then be calcined. Take it out and use a magnet or magnetic material to absorb any mechanical impurities. Next, pulse to 325 mesh to produce cuprous oxide. If copper sulfurate is being used as the raw materials, copper must first be reduced with iron. 2. Glucose reduction technique: A copper sulfate mixture is mixed in with glucose. After reacting to make cuprous, sodium hydroxide is added. 3. A method of iron electrolysis. Cast copper plate used in an electrolytic cells lined with polyvinyl chride. Red copper plate used in cathode. Kaolin chromate used in additive. Finally, salt solution used in electrolyte. In conditions of potassium chromate at 0.3% to 0.5g/L, 7090, pH 8, current density 1500 A/m2, temperature 7090, electrolysis will result in cuprous oxide. 4. Method to reduce hydrazine levels: Use 35mL 20 percent hydrazine water solution in 50mL high concentration copper acetate water solution. This will lower the divalent copperions. After a while, the solution changes to green. It then generates nitrogen gas. After a while, the solution becomes yellow to orangeyellow cuprous oxygen. The precipitate was washed several times with water, ethanol, or ether. Hydrazine excess can cause the cuprous oxide and metallic copper to be reduced further. The amount of hydrozine that is used in the precipitate washing was limited. It occurs most simply by the oxidation or copper metal. Acids and water, along with further oxidation into copper oxides (II), can also affect the process. 5. In 200mL of cold water, 50g copper succinate pentahydrate (75g) and 75g potassium sulfate tartrate (75g), respectively are dissolved. Once the solution has been cooled to ambient temperature, they are then combined. The 75 g sodium hydroxide was dispersed in 200 mLs of water to make an alkaline liquid. The alkali solution should be slowly added to the mixed mixture. Do not increase the temperature or it will turn dark brown. When the divalent Copper salt solution comes to a boil and is boiling, 10% glucose solution should be added. After that, the red cuprous oxide precipitates. You will then need to cool the mixture in 1L of boiling water. Allow it to stand for around 15 minutes. 6. You can direct oxidize copper metallically by using platinum wire. This will allow you to place metallic copper in a horizontal tubular electric oven, where it will heat at 1000°C for 24hrs under nitrogen containing 1% of oxygen. For cuprous oxide, the mixture of metallic copper with copper oxide can be enclosed in a vacuum tube. It will need to be heated to 1000° C. for 5 hour. Cuprous Oxide uses / Cu2O uses: Cupric oxide, which is a ceramic pigment, can be used to produce blue and red clay glazes. You can incorrectly use it as a supplement to animal feed. The low bioactivity makes it difficult for copper to be absorbed. It’s also used for welding with copper-alloy alloys. Cuprous dioxide is commonly used in the manufacture of marine coatings. 1. Ideal for pesticides. 2. Safe for clothing and fibers that are antibacterial. 3. Cuprous dioxide is suitable also for use as a fungicide in agriculture. 4. It can also be used as an antiseptic in ship primers to stop pollution and microorganisms. 5. Useful in the fabrication of many copper salts. 6. This is used to catalyze organic synthesis.
